Youth Addictions Prevention Worker
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, deliver, and coordinate culturally relevant prevention services and programs for at-risk youth populations.
- Identify and assess the need for addiction-prevention services among youth.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Promote healthy lifestyle choices among youth.
- Liaise with community partners to develop and provide addiction-prevention.
- Programming.
- Research new addictions-prevention methods and approaches.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Keen observation skills and ability to deal effectively with challenging behaviour.
- Proven experience in delivering prevention services or programs to at-risk youth populations.
- Strong knowledge of addictions and how they can affect youth development.
- A degree or certificate in education or a related field.
- A minimum of two years working in a related field.
- A valid drivers license.
