Windigo First Nations Council (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Windigo Language App (the “App”) handles your personal information.

The Windigo Language App is an educational tool designed to support language learning. We value your privacy and have designed this app to operate without collecting, storing, or sharing any personal data.

We do not collect or store any of the following:

- Personal identifiers (e.g., name, email, phone number)

- User-generated content

- Device IDs or IP addresses

- Analytics or usage data

- Sensitive information (e.g., health, biometric, financial, or racial/ethnic data)

You are not required to create an account or profile to use the App.

 

3. Children's Privacy

The App is accessible to and may be used by children under the age of 13. Because we do not collect any personal information, the App is compliant with child privacy protection laws such as Canada's PIPEDA, the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and similar international standards.

 

Parents or guardians can be assured that no data is collected, stored, or shared through the App.

 

4. Device Permissions

The App may request access to your device's audio capabilities (i.e., speaker) solely to play language content or facilitate language learning activities. No audio data is recorded, collected, or transmitted from your device.

 

5. Third-Party Services

The App does not use any third-party services or tools for analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or cloud hosting. Your use of the App remains entirely private to your device.

 

6. Data Retention

Since we do not collect or store any data, there is nothing retained or stored either locally or remotely. You do not need to take any action to manage, delete, or review your personal data.

 

7. Security

Although we do not collect personal data, we are committed to keeping the App secure. We follow best practices in app development to minimize potential vulnerabilities, including regular testing and updates.

 

8. User Rights

Because no personal data is collected, rights related to accessing, correcting, or deleting data do not apply to this App.

 

9. International Use

The App does not transfer any user data across borders or outside of Canada. It functions entirely offline and locally on your device.

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. If changes are made, we will revise the “Effective Date” at the top of this document and update the policy on our website at https://windigo.on.ca.
